Jillian Grace Has Arrived!

Yesterday, July 11, at 11:48am, Jillian Grace Smith finally arrived after weeks of false alarms and contractions! Shaunna and Adam went to the doctor on Monday for their weekly check-up and the non-stress test showed that Jilly's heart rate had dropped slightly. They decided to induce labor on Wednesday morning around 6am. When Shaunna's water broke around 9:15am, they discovered meconium (the baby's bowl movement) in the water. Not the best sign, so they started monitoring the baby even more closely. Around 11am, the doctor didn't like Jilly's vitals so they decided to get the baby out by C-section. She was 7 lbs 3 oz and 18 1/2 in long. She has dark hair and Shaunna's nose! Very cute! Here are some pics:

I hope these are enough to satisfy your curiosity for now. Alaina and Mom are in Peoria until Monday to help Shaunna settle. I will be in Ohio for a wedding this weekend and then home for a couple days before coming back next week to stay with Shaunna and Adam for about a week! Right now, it looks like Shaunna and Jillian will be home sometime on Saturday!
